NO MO' SUMMERTIME BLUES

I just returned from a family, summer vacation and every time I stepped outside I thought of the greatness of Dr. Gary Tylock. Why? Because for the first time in ten years when I walked or drove in the sun, I could finally put on sunglasses.

Until I got Intra-Lasik from Dr. Tylock I was stuck wearing regular glasses and regular glasses are awful in the summertime. You have a few choices and non of them are good. First, you can buy those clip-on plastic tinted lenses to cover your regular glasses. That's fine - if you want to look like the king of all dorks. Second, you can take off your prescription glasses and put on sunglasses every time you're in the sun. Now you're hauling around two sets of glasses and still trying to deal with your bad eyes - all at the same time. Or, you can spring for presciption sunglasses or glasses with polarizing lenses - both of which get really expensive.

But since I got Intra-Lasik, I don't have to worry about any of those problems. I have my eyesight back and I can wear regular sunglasses like a normal human being. All thanks to Dr. Gary Tylock.

If you want to know more about Intra-Lasik from Dr. Tylock, give him and his friendly staff a call at 1-800-NEW-EYES and check out his website (www.Tylock.com). And be sure to sign-up for his next Free Tuesday Night Informational Seminar. And tell them that Tom from the Ticket sent ya.

BEFORE and AFTER LASIK

Hey Sweet, Clean P-1s,
It has been about 10 years since I had to start wearing glasses. And I hated every second of it. I hated all of the hassle of wearing them. But most of all, I hated the way they made me look. If you want to see what I looked like in glasses just go back to The Ticket.com and the Tom's Tylock Blog link.

Recently, I got Intra-Lasik from the greatness of Dr. Gary Tylock. And I couldn't believe how easy it was. All I had to do was look at some lights for a total of about 4 minutes and the procedure was done. I got rid of my glasses and now I can read, workout, drive and do everything I need to do without glasses. And most importantly, when I look in the mirror I see myself again.
Here's what I look like without glasses. I know I'm no model but at least now I don't deal with the beating of glasses anymore. All thanks to Dr. Tylock!!

FINALLY FREE OF GLASSES!!

I just wanted to give you another update as I go through the experience of getting Lasik from the greatness of Dr. Gary Tylock.

When I started, I had been wearing glasses for about ten years. When I was 19, my vision had tested out to 20/15 (which is actually better than 20/20). But slowly it got worse and worse until I needed glasses and my last prescription was a +4 in each eye. I was farsighted. I could see ok in the distance but couldn't see anything up close.

Then I got my Lasik procedure about ten days ago from Dr. Tylock. I was driving and working out the next day! My new eyes are incredible. And I was back at The Ticket working on Monday without any problems and without my glasses. I went from being farsighted to having a perfect correction of my vision. The doctors told me that over the next two weeks, that my eyes would be healing and settling into 20/20. All I would need is a series of drops that would help my eyes heal.

So far, so good. Everything that Dr. Tylock and his staff told me would happen has happened. And I'm going back for a follow-up exam in a few days. I'm excited to see the results.

So if you're considering Lasik and want to know more, go to http://www.tylock.com/ or call them to get your seat at their next Free Tuesday Night Informational Seminar at 1-800-NEW-EYES. And if you're worried about the cost of Lasik, remember that Dr. Tylock already keeps his prices affordable and his staff is super professional, so he doesn't have to offer "half-off" deals.

A P-1s LASIK QUESTION

Recently, a sweet, clean P-1 asked me the following question about lasik...

Tom,
I would like to know something...I was told that if you get laser surgery, and your eyes worsen as you get older (after you've had the surgery) do you need to get the surgery again? or is this PERMANENT. One time. No mas!

Thanks, Gig 'Em

Now of course, I didn't have the answer. So I sent the question to the staff at Dr. Tylock's office and here's what they said...

It is not true that Lasik makes your eyes worse as you get older. Lasik reshapes your cornea so that light images are focused perfectly on your retina. If you eyes change over time, that is something that happen independent of Lasik. Some people need a stronger prescription as they get older and some people have the same prescription for 20 years. If this happens when you wear contact/glasses you get stronger lenses. If this happens when you have Lasik, you get an enhancement or touch up surgery. A touch up surgery within the first year after surgery in free, after one year there is a nominal charge set by the surgeon.

Hope that helps.

If you're considering Lasik and want more info on the procedure, the costs and Dr. Tylock himself, check out his website at www.Tylock.com or to reserve your seat at one of his Free Tuesday Night Informational Seminars give him a call at 1-800-NEW-EYES. THE BIG DAY

The day I've been waiting for for ten years now has finally happened. Last Friday, I got Lasik from the greatness of Dr. Gary Tylock.

This was the culmination of years of being too scared to think about having an eye procedure, to researching different Lasik doctors, talking to people who've had Lasik, going to Dr. Tylock's Free Tuesday Night Informational Seminar and finally, making the big decision.

And after having the procedure I'm left with two thoughts. First, I can't believe how quick and easy the procedure is. And second, I couldn't be happier with the results!

Here's what I had to do. I walked into Dr. Tylock's office at 12:30 pm for my 1 o'clock appointment. I walked out of his office at 2:20 pm. That includes prep time, the procedure itself, talking to Dr. Tylock before and after the Lasik, a relaxation period and a quick briefing on what to do that night and the next day. And that is it.

The Procedure

You prep for the Lasik by receiving a series of eye drops and taking a small valium pill. Then they bring you into the laser room where you receive a few more eye drops and they irrigate the eyes and Dr. Tylock and his assistant go over the entire procedure step-by-step. Dr. Tylock then sits you down for the first part of the procedure where they create a flap. All you do is lie down and look at a small circle of lights. There is absolutely NO PAIN. They create a flap in each eye (which took me about 3 minute’s total). I then moved 5 feet over to another laser that does the actual vision correction. This time all you do is focus on an orange light for a couple of minutes and you're done. Once again, this was 100% Painless. Dr. Tylock then exams each eye, tell you what to expect and answers any questions you might have.

I can't emphasize enough how easy and painless this procedure really is. In comparison, going to the dentist for a routine filling is 100 times more painful and stressful. The dentist uses needles, you get completely numb lips/cheeks and the unnerving sound of the drill. At the dentist, you also have the suction tube and (when it's at its best) you feel the pressure of the drill at work.

But Dr. Tylock's Lasik procedure is NOTHING like that. NO PAIN. ONLY EYE DROPS - NO NEEDLES. It's a completely stress-free procedure.

Afterwards, you're sent home (you will need someone to pick you up) and they want you to go to sleep for several hours. You're only instructions are no reading, no computer work and you can't rub your eyes (they'll actually give you a pair of goggles to wear to help protect your eyes). You'll have a follow-up appointment the day after where you'll be told about the eye drops you'll need to take for approximately the next few days. And I'll have another check-up in two weeks to see how things look after the eye has completely healed and my vision has stabilized.

The Results

Now for the first time in 10 years, I'm reading and working without glasses and when I look in the mirror I see myself again. I went running two days after the procedure and I was lifting weights only three days after the procedure. I still have the phantom sensations of wearing glasses from time to time but soon that too will be a thing of the past.

I couldn't be happier with the procedure and the results. This was without a doubt the best medical decision I've ever made! The process was fantastic and Dr. Tylock and his staff were absolutely terrific. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and made it a great experience.

PREPPING FOR THE BIG DAY

I've done my own research, spoke to people who've had Lasik, and went to the Free Tuesday Night Seminar. Now I'm very close to the day I go and get Lasik from Dr. Tylock. And I was very surprised at how easy it is to get ready for the procedure.

All you have to do is use a couple of eye drops and a warm wash cloth the day before and the day of the procedure. That's it!

I thought it was going to be a lot more involved. This is so much easier than I ever imagined.

The next step is the Lasik procedure itself and saying goodbye to my glasses forever. So check back here and I'll tell you how it went.

In the meantime, if you're curious about Lasik and want more information about Dr. Tylock's All-Laser Surger Center and how he performs each procedure, sign-up for his Free Tuesday Night Seminar at 1-800-NEW-EYES or check out his website, www.Tylock.com. WANT LASIK? NEED THE INFO!

I recently got to sit down for the Tylock Free Tuesday Night Information Seminar. First, it's easy to sign-up for. Just give them a call at 1-800-NEW-EYES or you can go to their website www.Tylock.com.

I arrived at Dr. Tylock's office (at 3100 N. MacArthur in Irving) where Kim, Bryan, Renata and their friendly staff made me and about 20 other folks feel right at home. Then Drs. Hayes and Wildridge told us all about the procedure and the equipment they use. It would take me an hour to write up everything they told us, so here are the highlights and what convinced me to get Lasik and to get it done by Dr. Tylock.

Dr. Tylock's is an ALL Laser Surgery Center and he has equipped it with the latest laser, computer and software technologies available. This commitment to having the latest and best technologies on-hand is what allows Dr. Tylock to offer his 20/20 or it's Free Guarantee. It also means that you'll be getting the absolutely safest and most accurate procedure available.

Using a laser also means that more patients than ever before are candidates for Lasik.
And Dr. Tylock can treat patients with more severe degrees of astigmatism and thinner corneas than earlier forms of Lasik.

You will receive all of your care from physicians who have had Lasik themselves and Dr. Tylock is the one who performs all of the procedures.

And you are not going to find a more experienced Lasik surgeon than Dr. Tylock. He's been in practice since 1986 and he helped design and build one of the first Lasik lasers. He has taught other eye doctors at UT Southwestern for over 20 years. He's been voted "The Best Lasik Surgeon in Dallas" by his peers three years in a row in "D" magazine. And he's the official Lasik surgeon of the Mavericks, Stars and Rangers. So if million-dollar athletes trust their eye sight and livelihoods to Dr. Tylock, so can I.

The way it works is everybody has an exam to ensure that they are a candidate for Lasik (and don't worry, there's NO AIR PUFF Test!). Then you make another appointment to have the actual procedure. The day after your procedure, you'll have a follow-up visit and that's basically it.

So the bottom line for me was that this laser procedure is the safest, most accurate Lasik procedure available. And with Dr. Tylock's experience, I have complete trust that he'll give me the absolute best care possible.

But please, sign up for the Free Tuesday Night Information Seminar and see for yourself. Just call them at 1-800-NEW-EYES or go to their website http://www.Tylock.com/. And tell them Tom from The Ticket sent ya!
